Gina Muuss at the 3rd Edition of Creative Minds Workshop, Germany, 2025.

Gina Muuss, a Doctoral Candidate committed to gender equality, organized and participated in the third edition of the Creative Minds Workshop, which took place in Bochum from March 7 to 9.

As is well known, cybersecurity remains a male-dominated industry. To challenge the status quo and promote gender equality, Gina Muuss and a team of female colleagues from the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy (MPI-SP) and CASA (Cybersecurity in the Age of Large-Scale Adversaries) organized the third edition of this workshop. This project has recently become part of MPI-SP’s Equal Opportunity Plan. “Creative Minds aims to do justice to the fact that female students should be encouraged and empowered as early as possible to pursue a career in a field still dominated by men.”

During this workshop, the participants were introduced into the world of IT security via practical exercises: they learned how to identify vulnerabilities and make web applications more secure.

Gina also took the opportunity to promote the QSI Science Art Contest during the event. By sharing information about the contest with the participants, she aimed to highlight the importance of combining scientific inquiry with artistic expression, encouraging young talents to explore creative ways of communicating complex scientific ideas.
