QSI at the Osaka World Expo, August 2025, Japan.

Following its nomination and selection by the European Commission, the Quantum-Safe Internet (QSI) project was showcased at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, as part of the thematic week ‘Peace, Human Security and Dignity’, held from August 8 to 12 at the EU Pavilion.

The project was represented by the PhD candidates Alessandro Marcomini and Vaisakh Mannalath from the University of Vigo, alongside the supervisors Alex B. Grilo (Sorbonne University, Paris) and Prof. Christian Majenz (Technical University of Denmark). In addition, QSI received support from its partners in Japan, Prof. Kiyoshi Tamaki (University of Toyama) and Koyi Azuma (NTT).

QSI offered a comprehensive program of scientific and outreach activities, including:

  • Talks and presentations by members of the consortium.

  • Interactive workshops and engaging activities for audiences of all ages, focusing on the challenges and solutions of quantum-safe cryptography.
