I investigated faulty QKD sources and explored new alternatives, proved the security of imperfect detectors, and worked on protocols that eliminate them entirely. I may not know whether QKD will ultimately be the answer, but I’m confident that I’ve become an expert in at least half of the wrong approaches, and that only motivates me to push further.
