Koji Azuma
Koji AZUMA received his B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in physics from Osaka University, the University of Tokyo and Osaka University, Japan, in 2005, 2007, and 2010 respectively. He joined NTT Basic Research Laboratories (BRL), Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation in 2010. His current interests are quantum information theory, especially for building the theory for a quantum internet. He was appointed as Distinguished Scientist of NTT in 2018. In 2018-2022, he was a Joint Appointment Researcher of the PRESTO, Japan Science and Technology Agency. From 2019, he is a Guest Associate Professor of Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University. From 2023, he is the Group Leader of Theoretical Quantum Physics Research Group in NTT BRL. He received Shoji Tanaka Prize from Department of Applied Physics at the University of Tokyo in 2007 and the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, the Young Scientists’ Prize in 2022. He is a member of the Physical Society of Japan.
