About me

Alexander May studied Computer Science in Frankfurt, and did his PhD at ETH Zurich and Paderborn University. In 2005, he was appointed Juniorprofessor at TU Darmstadt, and in 2007 joined Ruhr-University Bochum as full professor.

Alex’ research interests cover all aspects of crypanalysis, using classical and quantum algorithms. He is member of CASA, a DFG Cluster of Excellence in Cybersecurity, and he served as Founding Dean of Computer Science in Bochum.
